Handing your child's photo to an online service isn't a small thing. We built this as a passage, not a storage box: the photo is used to create the book, then it disappears.
Never written to disk
The photo is never saved: it's processed in memory just long enough to generate the book, then it disappears along with the request. No archive, no trash bin, no exception.
Never used for training
Your child's photos are never used to train an AI model — not ours, and not a third party's.
A tightly scoped subprocessor
Generation runs through a technical provider's API (Google Gemini), governed by a GDPR data-processing agreement. The full guarantees are detailed in our privacy policy.
The book is yours
The illustrations created belong to you. We never reuse them, even for our own marketing, without your written consent.
Deleted
No trace is kept: the photo only exists for as long as it takes to create the book.

Will my child really be recognisable?
Yes — that's the whole point of our work. Before you even pay, you see 3 illustrated versions of your child made from their photo and pick the one that looks most like them — you can also adjust the colours (hair, skin, eyes, eyebrows). That character, approved by you, is then used as the reference for every page of the book.
What happens to the photos I upload?
They're automatically deleted from our servers as soon as the book is generated. We never keep them, we never use them to train any model, and they're never shared with anyone. That's a firm commitment, not a line buried in the terms and conditions.
How long does it take to receive the book?
The PDF is ready in under an hour after your order. For the softcover, allow 3 to 6 business days, printing and delivery included. For the hardcover, allow 8 to 10 business days with standard delivery (included), or 6 days with the express delivery option (+€5) offered at checkout. For a birthday or Christmas, we recommend ordering about ten days ahead.
What age are the stories written for?
Our stories are designed for ages 2 to 10, with simple text that's easy to read aloud. Each theme shows a recommended age range, and the length of the text adapts to the age you enter.
Can I put two children in the same book?
Yes — choose "Two children" at the start of the creation form. Each child is illustrated from their own photo, and both are heroes of the same story. +€15 on every plan.
What if I don't like the result?
You choose and adjust your child's character before paying, so there's no surprise about how they look. If the generated story still doesn't match what you expected, contact us at contact@contalya.com: we'll look into it with you and find the best solution.
